DAY 4

START BY READING:

KEY VERSE TO FOCUS ON:

“Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God’s right hand. Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth.”

Colossians 3:1-2

DEVOTIONAL:

Have you ever noticed that when you’re striving to be more intentional about spending time with Jesus, distractions tend to increase? The enemy loves to stir up interruptions however he can when he sees someone pursuing closeness with their Savior. While worldly things will always fight for our attention, we can learn to choose what we focus on by taking every disruptive thought captive and submitting it to Christ. Our Creator is not a God of disorder or confusion, but of peace and perfection! In times of chaos, remember His goodness and choose an eternal perspective.

Take some time to ask the Holy Spirit to show you any areas of your life where distractions are hindering you, so you can let them go. Remember, the enemy wants your focus on worries, Christ wants your focus on Him.

SUGGESTED PRAYER:

Jesus, thank you for the truth and light You provide to every part of my being. Direct my focus onto Your truths today. When my mind starts to wander and worry, help me remember who You are. Teach me to see things through the lens of eternity. Holy Spirit, help me discern which thoughts are from You and which thoughts are from the enemy. If there’s anything I’m fixating on that’s hindering my relationship with You, show me and help me move away from it. Quiet my mind, so I can hear You more clearly. Amen.

What are you grateful for today?
Write down three things.
