DEVOTIONAL:

When we fail to acknowledge the Source of every good thing we encounter, we fail to express proper gratitude to the One who’s pouring out the blessings. This can lead us to both forgetting and discounting the faithfulness of God. While the enemy may tempt us to credit “luck” when we encounter good things, we must remember that all good gifts come from Him and Him alone. The resources you have, the home you live in, the air in your lungs, the spiritual gifts inside you, the protection you have, the sunrise and sunset…it’s all from Him.

Getting into the habit of acknowledging the Source of these wonderful things is critical. We must choose to renew our minds daily by setting our focus and gratitude on Him.

SUGGESTED PRAYER:

God, I’m in awe of You! Your faithfulness surrounds me each and every day. Thank you for pouring Your heavenly gifts over me. Teach me to appreciate not only the gifts, but more importantly, the gift Giver! You are all I need. Don’t let me walk another day on this earth with closed eyes. Soften any parts of my heart that have grown hard and help me embrace all that You offer. Holy Spirit, thank you for Your closeness! As I go about my day, show me any gifts from You that have gone unnoticed in my life. Open my eyes to Your glory! Amen.
